Drum at Canimambo
Everyone has a rhythm.
Rhythm is inside each and everyone of us, if you have a heart beat then you have a rhythm.
Drumming with others is an ancient practice that people have used for millennia all over the globe, especially in Africa and Asia, to connect , heal, learn and celebrate. The Drum Circle of today is an extension of this age old tradition. In simple terms, a drum circle is a collection of people gathering together to express music through rythm. Drum Circles can happen indoors, or outside with people of all ages. Participating in one requires little, or no musical knowledge or special abilities. In a Drum Circle there is an opportunity for each individual to be seen and be heard by each other that is beyond the typical, self imposed boundaries such as economic status, sex, creed, race, politics or age. In a circle we are all equal and vital components of the whole.
